Popular questions

Can we write our own vows and design our own ceremony?

Yes! A personalized approach is encouraged. As long as the two legal questions are adhered to according to the Marriage Act of Prince Edward Island. We can include (or not) any other elements that you wish.

Do you officiate ceremonies all across PEI?

Yes, I do. There are many beautiful backyards and venues across the Island and I love seeing them all!

Do you perform same-sex marriages?

Yes, I do.

Can you officiate marriages in a church?

Yes. There are churches on PEI that I’m aware of that allow Marriage Commissioners to officiate – St. Mary’s Church in Indian River and Cherry Valley Christ Church in Cherry Valley are two however, there are more that may allow with prior permission.

What are the sound requirements?

It depends on how many guests there are and where the ceremony location will be. I generally prefer to use a sound system as I believe it’s important for your guests to be able to hear what is being said.  Ultimately, in the end, I leave this up to the couple – rental and setup of the sound system is their responsibility.

What do you wear when officiating?

I wear a dress in a neutral colour. I always ask about the colour theme of the wedding and try to respect the wishes of the couple.

What is your availability and pricing?

Please contact me and I’ll be happy to check availability and to give you a quote. A non-refundable deposit is required upon booking to confirm my officiating services. The balance is due the night of the rehearsal.

I’ve still got a question.

Ask away and I’ll get right back to you.
